Learning outcomes: Knowledge of major theories, categories, methods and problems of cultural anthropology research and understanding of the specificity of this scientific discipline in relation to other related science disciplines.
Competences: The competencies acquired by the participants can also include the ability to use self-concepts and methods of cultural anthropology to analyze and explain cultural phenomena and processes.
Prerequisites: None.
Course content: Cultural anthropology and other scientific disciplines. The main theories, concepts, schools. Methods and techniques of research. Categories: culture, design, pattern, standard cultural values. Cultural order and chaos: deviation, innovation and inventiveness. Cultural processes: cultural change, acculturation. The evolution of culture and history. Globalization as a cultural process. The concepts of globalization of culture: questions and controversies of research results.
