Learning outcomes: The student knows the notions of the natural environment, causes and effects of its degradation and methods for improving the environment. Knows how to determine the effect of anthropogenic factors on the air, water, soil, vegetation, animals and humans.
Competences: The student knows the methods for protection of environment against pollution and degradation, can practically apply some regulations and norms of environment protection.

Course content: The environment – the need for protection and sources of pollution. Resistance of environment to degrading agents. Protection of natural environment within the concept of the multilateral system of protected areas. Degradation and protection of the air, soil, land and waters. Disposal and utilization of municipal waste. Unconventional sources of energy.
