On completion of this course students know basis and principles of analytical description of the Earth, can determine position on the Earth surface, know methods of survey and mapping of the terrain area with the overlying objects, can select proper geodetic and cartographic methods for individual problems.Competences:
On completion of this unit students will understand the basis and methods of analytical description of the Earth in particular fields of geodesy and cartographyPrerequisites:
-Course content:
Description of the space. 3D space. Coordinate system. Definition and orientation of the coordinate frame. Plumb-line, gravity field, Earth rotation. Mapping projections. Geodetic data acquisition methods. Remote sensing and photogrammetric methods. 2D area. Rules of the detailed surveying in engineering surveys. Measurement errors. Evaluation of the measurement results reliability on the base of the measurement accuracy. Digital and analog maps. Role of the cartography and data bases in geomatics.Recommended literature:
