Learning outcomes: On completion of this unit students know methods and techniques of satellite navigation, know global and local navigation systems and can determine position, velocity and course on the Earth surface using satellite navigation systems.
Competences: On completion of this unit students can use satellite navigation systems in practice.
Prerequisites: geodesy and geodetic astronomy, satellite geodesy
Course content: Methods of marine, aerial and land navigation. Global Navigation Satellite Systems – GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO. RTCM and NMEA standards. Standard and Precise Positioning Service. Satellite based augmentation systems of wide and local range (WASS, LASS). System EGNOS. Navigation services of ASG-EUPOS. Satellite navigation receivers. Car and personal positioning systems
