Student gets knowledge about produced and amateurishly cultivated ornamental plants: their biology, propagation, requirements and modern methods of their cultivation.
Competences:
After completing the course student will be able to make use of polish and latin names and taxonomy of discussed plant taxa as well as classify plants according to their usage, decorative features, length of cultivation and requirements, to take decisions about methods of their cultivation, to select species and varieties depending on their usage.
Prerequisites:
Botany, Plant Physiology, Soil Management, Horticultural Engineering
Course content:
Characteristics of species and varietes of plants cultivated in the field (annual, biennial, perennial plants, perennials not wintering in the field) and under covers, requirements, cultivation, propagation, harvest of flowers, usage.
