On completion of the course student understands and utilizes basic chemical principles, to solve analytical and calculation problems.Competences:
Student knows how to carry out the qualitative analyses of inorganic cations and anions, and quantitative analyses employing titration and gravimetry; student is able to do calculations concerning respective analyses.Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge in chemistryCourse content:
Systematic of inorganic compounds. Atom structure, the nature of chemical bond. Periodic table of elements. Electrochemistry: redox reactions; electrolysis; reduction potentials; cells and battery. Solutions: equilibrium in solutions of electrolytes, dissociation, acids and bases, amphoteric, pH concept, properties of buffers, solubility. Coordination complexes. Elements of quantitative and qualitative analysis. Chemical calculations.Recommended literature:
