After completing the course the student can recognize basic plant species in their different stages of development, is able to plant and analyse particular agricultural treatments for selected plant species and the way of the are used. There are provided the most important information about biology propagation and production methods of vegetable in Poland. Knowledge about the biological value of vegetables and their application in human nutrition is also included. Students know identify the apple cultivars on the base of diagnostic characteristics.Competences:
The student is familiar with plant habitat and agritechnical conditions which effect on yield size and its quality. Student will be able to grow the minor species of vegetable crops on commercial scale and in home gardens and to use them in human diet. Student are capable to make starch-test and measure the firmness of apple fruit, are able to analyse the outward and inward quality of apple fruit. Prerequisites:

Course content: Historical and economical meaning of field cultivation, biology of development, forecrop, sowing, planting, fertilizing and harvesting of cultivated plant. The nutritive value of fruit and vegetable,sensory and diagnostic estimation of apple fruit, the analyse of the level of ripeness and usefulness for consumption.Recommended literature:
