PolishLearning outcomes:
The student knows the theoretical basics and he has the practical abilities in the field of exploratory data analysis by using statistical packages (e.g. STATISTICA, EXCEL (unit-Data Analysis)), of the constructing statistical models and the studying of a structure and a dynamics of random phenomena. Student understands and knows the principles of transforming of statistical data in order to conduct the correct statistical inference on the elementary level. Competences:
The student has ability of the independent carrying out analysis of statistical experimental data applying the proper statistical methods on the elementary level. Moreover he is able to elaborate the report which includes the verification of potential research hypotheses by using the statistical package e.g. STATISTICA.Prerequisites:
mathematics, informaticsCourse content:
Terminology in the field of descriptive statistics: population, random sample, types of features describing a population. Basic statistics (numerical characteristics) and graphical presentation of empirical material. Basic concepts of probability calculus: probability, random variable, density function, types and examples of probability distribution. Point estimation, confidence intervals, confidence level, statistical hypotheses, critical region of test and significance level. Testing of hypotheses and basic statistical tests, methods of regression analysis, methods of analysis of co-dependence of variables, statistical methods of analysis of dynamic of mass phenomena (time series).Recommended literature:

Assessment methods:
Credit of classes according to: tests (to 15 min.), solution of problems from given lists of task
(at table and using a computer), activity (additional points), accomplished report on the base of
selected experimental data connected with questions from commodity science and final repetition - at least 60% requested points.
Object is finished examination (test of complements: questions and short tasks) with utilization of statistical tables for basic probability distributions. At least oComment:
