Learning outcomes: On completion of the course, the student will know the following: the rules of metrology, quality management in accordance to ISO 17025 (the content of ISO 17025), the fundamental points of Good Laboratory Practice; the rules of validation; steps of accreditation process. Moreover, the student will know how to prepare GLP documentation (procedures, instructions).

Competences: The student who has finished the course will be able to be a member of teams designing and implementing systems in accordance to ISO 17025. He/she will be able to design a project of the laboratory documentation.

Prerequisites: The knowledge of production and processing of food products, basics of micro and macroeconomics, marketing and management. Basic knowledge of microbiology and hygiene.

Course content: The foundations of metrology and sampling. The fundamental points of Good Laboratory Practice. ISO 17025 (the content of ISO 17025). The rules of validation; steps of accreditation process. Measurement uncertainty and coherence.
