Student gets knowledge about pathogenesis of zoonoses.
Graduating the course student has basic knowledge about etiology and potential routes and risk of infection of most important zoonoses.
Competences:
Student is aware about etiology of zoonoses, sources of infection and possible contagious to the men. Student has a knowledge about clinical signs during the course of infection. Also has necessary background to interview and assessment the risk to the infected person.Prerequisites:
Microbiology, veterinary epidemiology, anatomy, histology, pharmacology .Course content:
Etiology of zoonotic agents, sources of infection with the emphasis to the level of human-animal contact, accidental infections, pet owners infections, infections in veterinary surgeons and farm animal owners. Routes of infection, development of infection in human organism, clinical findings. Causative diagnostic of zoonoses. Prevention and prophylaxis.Recommended literature:
