Learning outcomes: At the end of the course student gets the knowledge about cheaper and more intensive methods of ethanol production, as well as nonconventional microorganisms suitable for these purposes; knows the bases of technology of wine and alcoholic beverages.

Competences: After completing the course student is able to organize and manage production in fermentation industry.

Prerequisites: Biochemistry, Microbiology, Fermentation Technology

Course content: Selected aspects of production and quality evaluation of special beers, liqueurs and strong beverages. Bases of wine technology. Nonconventional raw materials for ethanol production. Different than Saccharomyces cerevisiae microorganisms for ethanol production. Ethanol fermentation under reduced pressure. Immobilized cells in ethanol production.
