After course completion student has knowledge about basic principles of cooling systems work, and their potential use in different branches of food industry.Competences:
Student is able to oneself determine the usability of different cooling systems for preservation of raw materials and food products (unprocessed and processed) depending on course of their utilization. Student is also able to optimize the work of cooling systems to demand of process.Prerequisites:
Food Engineering, Process Engineering and Equipment for Food Industry, General Food TechnologyCourse content:
Characteristics of cooling systems, their tasks and classification. Rules of thermodynamics and thermodynamic processes. Absorption and stream cooling systems. Cooling compressors. Thermodynamic properties of refrigerants. Law regulations of refrigerants usage.Recommended literature:
