During the course students will know the morphological and anatomical structure of plants and their variability in evolutionary aspect as well as main criteria of the plants kingdom systematic (evolution of organs and reproduction types). He knows various taxonomical plant groups. He gains skilling in detailed observation of plant organs and interpretation of their function as well as in comparison of common and differentiated features.Competences:
Passing the course student is able to recognize the main taxonomical group of plants and describe its structure, is ready to prepare microscopic slides and use microscope for observation as well as he can make comparative analyses of the various plant groups’ structure.Prerequisites:
Biology on the level of the secondary schoolCourse content:
The overall purpose of the course is to provide students with theoretical background of the variability of plants organs, morphological structure and reproduction types as a base for taxonomy of plants. The scheme of plant systematic and characteristic of main taxonomical groups is introduced.Recommended literature:
