PolishLearning outcomes:
After completing the course student should know the fundamental chemical definitions and laws, classification and nomenclature of inorganic and organic compounds. Student acquires skills in conducting chemical calculations, experiences and presenting them in the form of reaction equations. The course also aims to familiarize students with the basic methods and apparatus used in the chemical laboratory.Competences:
The completed course enables the planning and carrying out experiences in the chemical laboratories.Prerequisites:
Possessed (as far as good) material with chemistry in high school.Course content:
Atom structure, properties of chemical elements. Types and characteristics of chemical bonds. Equilibriums in the solutions: electrolytic dissociation, hydrolysis of salt, pH, buffer. Types and course of chemical reactions. Red ox processes, electrochemical series, electrolysis. Electron structure and isomerism of organic compounds. Nomenclature, properties and reactions of aliphatic, aromatic and heterocyclic compounds containing common functional groups. Properties of major classes of biomolecules: carbohydrates, amino acids and nucleic acids.Recommended literature:
