During the course a students will acquire practical and theoretical knowledge of the fundamental laws of physics. They will learn measurement methodology, technology of measuring various physical quantities, and usage of various measurement devices. Among the topics that will be covered during the course there are: classical mechanics, oscillations and waves, thermodynamics, electrical and magnetic phenomena, geometrical and wave optics, nuclear physics and radioactivity.Competences:
Acquired knowledge will enable the student to: understand physical phenomena and processes appearing in nature, analyze physical phenomena, understand how various measurement devices work, how to perform measurements of basic physical quantities, as well as how to describe and interpret obtained results. Basics of physics, mathematicsCourse content:
Basic physical ideas and laws, classical mechanics, resonance, acoustics, properties of liquids and gases, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism, electromagnetic waves, optics with elements of spectroscopy, optical and electron microscopy, nuclear physics.Recommended literature:
