After completing of the course students will know the basic notions of matrix algebra, probability theory and mathematical statistics, such as: vector space, matrix, random variable, distribution of a random variable, parameter estimation, hypothesis testing.
Competences:
Passing the course will prepare the students for studying mathematical statistics and its applications in life sciences. After completing the course the student will be able to perform simple statistical analyses.Prerequisites:

Elements of logic. Sets, relations, functions. The notion of a matrix. Solving linear systems. Matrix algebra. Random variable. Discrete and continuous random variables. Parameter estimation in the normal model. Hypothesis testing in the normal model. Linear regression model. Multiple linear regression model. Recommended literature:
