Learning outcomes: After completing the course students will possess theoretical knowledge and practical abilities in legal acts retrieval and law regulations understanding, as well as they will know fundamental regulations of Copyright Law and Industrial Property Law, the notion of creative and artistic works and requirements to be granted to exclusive rights by copyright law. They will be able to distinguish copyrights as property rights and as personal rights and will know fundamental legal regulations on inventions, industrial design, trademarks, utility models, geographical indications, semiconductor topographies, and biotechnological inventions.

Competences: The completed course enables students to use principles of free use of copyrighted works, to apply in practice main regulations of the Copyright and Industrial Property Law; to draw up knowingly an agreement concerning copyright, and to participate consciously in proceeding in patent office.

Prerequisites:

Course content: Sources and system of law, legal norms, civil law in the law system, the civil law subjects, legal capacity, sources of Copyright and Industrial Property Law; the notion of creator; personal rights and property rights, works subjected to copyright, free use of protected works; related rights; industrial property rights subject: the notion of innovations (plant varieties and breed races, biotechnological inventions, industrial designs, utility models, trademarks, geographical indications, semiconductor topographies).
