After passing the course students possess knowledge on agricultural environment and field crop production. They are able to recognize main types of soils, species of crops and weeds. They know and understand relationships between agricultural practices and quality and yield of a crop. Students have ability to draw up a meadow and pasture grain mixes as well as to project and found special pastures. They can organize pasturage and have a basic knowledge about landscape valorization.Competences:
Students are able to plan and supervise crop production of field crops particularly these used for fodder.Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge on high school level of botany and chemistry.Course content:
The course comprise main knowledge on field crop production. Definitions and terminology. Environment of a crop and its importance for growth of the crop and yield. Soil structure, quality and climatic conditions. The importance and effect of soil tillage, mineral and organic fertilization on yield and its quality. Crop protection and its significance. Practical on soil tillage, field crops and weeds.Recommended literature:
