Student will posses the basic theoretical and practical knowledge allowing to recognize the different poultry species, their specifics and performances; will knew the biology of birds (anatomy, reproduction - egg formation, semen production and evaluation; embryo development) and ability of its application in commercial poultry production; how to organize and manage the production process of different poultry species; will be able.Competences:
After completing the course student will be able to organize and manage production processes at every level of poultry breeding and commercial production (reproductive and commercial farms of all poultry species, hatcheries), can be employed in laboratories working on semen evaluation and lead every poultry production process.Prerequisites:
Animal physiology, genetics, basis of animal nutrition Course content:
Characteristics and types of poultry production; external morphology and performances of different poultry species; biological basis of bird reproduction; genetic and environmental factors affecting egg and meat production; technology of management and keeping of particular poultry species; technology of egg incubation; embryonic devilment of birds; biological analysis of incubation; methods of poultry reproduction; semen collection and evaluation; female insemination; characteristics of bird digestive tract and basis of feeding the different technological groups of poultry; organization of breeding work in poultry farms.Recommended literature:
