Learning outcomes: Students has knowledge about relations between elements of mountain environment, rational management of mountain regions, get ability to describe chosen elements of mountains environment and define threats for mountain areas. Student has knowledge about rational and environment friendly management of mountain areas.

Competences: After completing the course students gets possibilities of working in administrative authority, especially connected with mountain areas, conducting environmental investigations especially in mountain areas, work in agencies connected with natural environment protection.

Prerequisites: biology, botany, soil science, ecology, geology

Course content: Geomorphology of mountain areas, geology of mountain areas, geography of mountain areas, soil science and soil geography of mountain areas, vertical zonality, degradation and threatens for mountain areas, mountain areas protection and rational management.
