Learning outcomes: Assesment of the housing environmental conditions, including ecistic (room location, environmental influences, climate, buffer zones), technical and organizational, technical and functional; evaluation of environmental conditions in buildings for animals obliging in Poland and other EU countries. After the course the student is able to estimate the costs of maintaining the environment for livestock.

Competences: After the course the student can estimate the costs of maintaining the environment for livestock; make an assessment of animal welfare conditions in the housing, using methods approved in the EU countries; assess the influences of object location in the nearest environment of livestock. Students can also prepare a framework for an integrated permition application for large-scale extensive farming.

Prerequisites: Animal hygiene and welfare

Course content: Law rules about animal welfare, methods of its evaluation (SPIWET, TGI 2000) the influences of farms on the environment, integrated permition for large-scale extensive farming, creating conditions inside the livestock buildings (design the lighting, ventilation, floor warmth, odour gas assessment, limiting methods of their concentration).
