Student get to know and understand molecular basis changeability of selected livestock performance features. Acquire basic rules of DNA diagnostics test performance. Student will get the skills to interpretation DNA examination results of farm animals.Competences:
Completion the course will allow to undertake a Job in Animals breeding associations, regional associations of agricultural advisory and Rother units responsible for farm animal husbandry in Poland.Prerequisites:
Biochemistry, geneticsCourse content:
Livestock genomics, polymorphic genetic markers, elements of gene expression regulation, genes of high impact on animals production and performance traits, genetic diseases in livestock and molecular diagnostics of inherited disorders in livestock.Recommended literature:
