After completing the course students will have the ability to use the electron and light microscopes at basic level and to analyse the obtained data.Competences:
Passing the course permits working in laboratories where the organic and inorganic matter is analyze by means of electron and light microscopy.Prerequisites:
Cell biology, biophysics, histology Course content:
The overall purpose of the course is to provide students with theoretical and practical background of transmission and scanning microscopy. The student will obtain practical skills concerning the particular types of light microscopes and their optical systems as well as they will learned about kinds of microscopic specimens, fixation and staining techniques. The topic will cover also autoradiography, cyto- and histochemical reactions of different kinds, konfocal microscopy, digital pictures analysis. Recommended literature:
