To acquaint students with the methods and possibilities of a correct, practical analysis and evaluation of experimental data and field observations using various techniques and computer programs including the possible sources of error and the correct interpretation of the results.
Competences:
Students will be able to understand that appropriate procedures for assessing the relevance of the studied phenomena and accurately assess the observed regularity.Prerequisites:
basic statistics and probability theoryCourse content:
The interpretation of basic statistical characteristics. Principles of using and graphical presentation of the various measures of central tendency and variability. Verification of hypotheses using the binomial distribution and normal. Confidence intervals for averages. Parametric and nonparametric tests of differences between averages. Chi-square tests. The most important experimental systems biology. Statistical analysis - ANOVA, ANCOVA. -Factorial and hierarchical. Systems with repeated measurements, and combinations thereof. Fixed and random effects. Materiality test the relationships between variables - regression and correlation analysis.Recommended literature:
