Learning outcomes: The student after completion of the course will acquire knowledge of the structure and care of landscape architecture objects using technical and material means. The course prepares student to evaluate the accuracy of the work related to the implementation (construction and maintenance) of landscape architecture objects.

Prerequisites: Preceding subjects: Vegetation, Designing of landscape architecture objects.

Course content: Acquainting students with the tasks associated with construction and care of landscape architecture objects both in design and implementation aspects using the available technical and materials means. The legal and formal basis of activities associated with the construction and maintenance of landscape architecture objects. Preparation of device surveys for objects of landscape architecture, principles of design works verification. The technical documentation of the construction work, the principle of quantity survey. Technology and the organization construction work, the rights and obligations of participants in the construction process. Rules of the site diary and collection book of the works. Work safety in the construction and maintenance of landscape architecture objects. Preparatory work to carry out earthworks, earth moving technology, terrain modeling, determination of slopes, embankments, trenches. Protection of trees and shrubs and soil on the construction site. Preparatory works, rescue operations, care. Recommendations for the implementation of green areas. (Vegetation projects). Transport and storage of plant material, plant cultivation and fertilization techniques. The principles of sampling to determine the fertilizer needs of plants. Plants fertilization. Construction of paths, roads, squares, bicycle paths and special pavements, selection of materials. Construction, deployment and maintenance of small garden architecture elements with the selection of materials. Construction and maintenance - pergolas, trellis, lighting, small garden water tanks. Techniques of sowing and planting of shrubs, perennial plants, ground cover plants, flowers. Vegetation care. Transplanting of trees, preparation process and acclimatization, methods of transplanting trees, technologies, care after transplanting. Installing of turf areas, technology, care (playgrounds, squares) Lawn renovation. Installing of flowerbeds and perennial flowerbed, technology and care. Generic gardens. Providing of garden maintenance work in the historical garden setups. Reconstructions and adaptations of historical setups to new functions. Ground cover plants and herbaceous in different layouts. Roof gardens, selection of plants. Perennial seasonal flowerbeds, park fleece. Arrangement of green areas in the open landscape. Selection of plants for different types of afforestations. Afforestation in the rural areas. Afforestation arranging of the protection zones (areas of limited use) around industrial facilities, selection of species, development of spatial and species zone. Technical documentation of afforestation.
