Learning outcomes: He can practically apply the basic chemical methods of qualitative and quantitative determinations, can perform stoichiometric calculations based on chemical formulas and equations, can perform calculations on solutions of various substances, it can describe the structure of matter, is able to distinguish between the types of chemical reactions. It is understood chemical processes occurring in the environment.

Competences: He understands chemical processes important for the environment.

Prerequisites:

Course content: Basic law concepts and chemical entities. The periodic table of elements. Atomic structure. Classification and nomenclature of inorganic compounds and complexes. Bindings intra-molecular and intermolecular interactions. Types of chemical reactions. The kinetics of chemical reactions. Elements of chemical thermodynamics. Thermochemistry. States of matter-gases, liquids, solids. Appropriate solutions and colloidal systems. Interfacial phenomena. Electrochemistry - cells, electrolysis, chemical and electrochemical corrosion. Classification and nomenclature of organic compounds. Types of chemical transformations in organic chemistry. General characteristics of organic compounds: aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, phenols, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, esters, fats, nitro compounds, amines, amides, heterocyclic compounds, amino acids, peptides, proteins, carbohydrates. Hazardous organic compounds in the environment - dioxins, PCBs, PAHs. Fundamentals of crystallography and crystal chemistry. Spectroscopy and electrical engineer in the chemical assays.

Assessment methods: Credit reports, laboratory exercises, 2 tests of the theory to the laboratory, 2 colloquia of chemical calculations, written exam.

Lecture 3: Chemical bonding intra-and intermolecular. Lecture 4: Chemical reactions divisions balancing. Lecture 5: Chemical Calculations based on chemical formulas and equations. Lecture 6: Reaction kinetics-the rate of reaction, activation energy, rzędowość reaction equilibrium constants. Lecture 7: Elements of chemical thermodynamics. Thermochemistry. Lecture 8: Solutions of appropriate electrolytes, nieelektrolity, electrolytic dissociation, ionic product of water, hydrolysis of salts, water hardness. The calculation of the solutions. Lecture 9: Colloidal systems, divisions, examples, methods of preparation, properties, structure of colloidal particles. Lecture 10: Fundamentals of crystallography and crystal chemistry. Errors structure and microstructure of crystalline materials. Construction of crystalline silicates and aluminosilicates. Lecture 11: Electrochemistry - Electrochemical series of metals, the half-cell, cell, electrolysis, chemical and electrochemical corrosion, corrosion protection. Lecture 12: Classification and nomenclature of organic compounds. Lecture 13: The types of chemical transformations in organic chemistry - reaction of substitution, addition, elimination, polymerization, polycondensation. Lecture 14: General characteristics of organic chemical compounds. Saturated hydrocarbons, unsaturated, aromatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, phenols, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, esters, fats. Lecture 15: nitro compounds, amines, amides, heterocyclic compounds, amino acids, peptides, proteins, carbohydrates. Hazardous organic compounds in the environment (dioxins, PCBs, PAHs).
