W1 – defines the basic concepts in biochemistry [BH1_W01; BH1_W02];
W2 – recognizes the basic biomolecules associated with the relevant metabolic pathways [BH1_W02, BH1_W10];
W3 – explains the relationship between major metabolic pathways and ways to regulate them [BH1_W02];
W4 – describes the relationship between structures, properties and functions of primary metabolites [BH1_W02].
Skills:
Student:
U1 – combines the basic biomolecules with the relevant metabolic pathways [BH1_U05];
U2 – systematizes the knowledge of the key pathways in living organisms [BH1_U05];
U3 – examines the relationship between the major biochemical pathways [BH1_U05];

Basic chemical constituents of living organisms, obtaining and storing of metabolic energy, metabolism of carbohydrates, fatty acids and amino acids, regulation of basic metabolic pathways, the flow of genetic information.Recommended literature:
