Students learn to recognize selected crops (Salix, Miscanthus, Spartina, Helianthus, Sida, Rosa) produced for bioenergy, and knows the principles of preparing reproductive material. They are able to plan a complex technology of crop production of the energy species including costs of plantation establishing. They have knowledge on energy value of the crops as a source of renewable energy.Competences:
After the students obtain the course credit, they have the competence to design technology for bioenergy crop production based on the produced biomass.Prerequisites:

Historic and economic value of renewable and non-renewable energy sources. Basic components of energy crop production: forecrop, method and date of sowing, seeding, organic and mineral fertilization, plant protection, harvest. Energy value of the produced plant biomass. Economic factors conditioning profitability of energy crop production.Recommended literature:
