Learning outcomes: Student understands the nature of sociology as a science of society. Has the general theoretical knowledge about basic sociological concepts, and the basic concepts and theories that make up the sociology of scientific apparatus, - know the most basic methods of social research - know the basic types of macro and microstructures social - has knowledge of the most important phenomena occurring today in a global society .Skills: Student is able to identify sociology as a science and replace its precursors - is able to look critically at the same sociological knowledge as one of the possible structures to explain the social world - is able to describe and name the components of the social system, and describe the basic social community - can describe the concept of nation, state and civilization in terms of sociology - can properly interpret the results of surveys - use the acquired knowledge in the field of research methods for constructing self-questionnaire.

Competences: Personal and social competences (attitudes and behaviors): Students can complement and improve the acquired knowledge and skills - can communicate with the environment for the exchange of sociological knowledge - able to work in a group, taking the different roles and take responsibility for own work and others.

Course content: Course contents: Sociology as a humanities science. Society as a subject of socjologii.Definicje and types of social groups. Sociological analysis of the state. State, political parties, the conditions of democracy. The sociological concepts of the nation. The nation and ethnic group. The clash of civilizations by Huntington's vision. Globalizacja.Socjologiczne cultural scene. Socialization and social control. The family as the basic agenda of socialization. Changes in contemporary Polish family
