Learning outcomes: Students learn about the rules of breeding and the specificity of domestic birds reproduction. They familiarize with construction and equipment of buildings for domestic birds.
Competences: Students acquire the knowledge in a range of extensive and semi-intensive husbandry of different species of domestic birds.
Prerequisites: Animal physiology, poultry breeding
Course content: Significance of backyard poultry keeping, basic species and breeds of poultry kept in extensive and semi-intensive husbandry, rules of maintenance of particular species of domestic birds, buildings and their equipment, yards.
