Improvement in basis of haematology and its relationship with different medical sciences, especially with basic sciences and clinical sciences.Competences:
After course finishing, student is prepared for:
- choosing which kind of laboratory tests connecting with whole blood and blood derivatives should be done in disease diagnosis and monitoring,
- collecting, protecting and preparing of samples for laboratory tests,
- carrying out haematological laboratory tests using: different types of centrifuge, automatic haematological analyzer, hematologic counters, coagulometer ,
- carrying out laboratory documentation,
- preliminary interpreting of laboratory test results. Prerequisites:
Histology, The Cell Biology, Physiology, Pathophysiology, Internal diseasesCourse content:
The student is familiarized with haematological problems; haemopoiesis, the role of blood cells and plasma, morphological and functional disturbances of blood in different type of diseases and transplant and transfusion problems. Recommended literature:
