Learning outcomes: Knowledge: -Student describes, explains the phenomenon of homeostasis, neurohormonal regulation of reproduction, aging and death in the breeding of pigs on a farm -Describes, explains and interprets the principles and mechanisms underlying the breeding of pigs, the emergence of diseases and their treatments on a farm on the level of the cell, the organ, animal, herd animals to the population -Describes, explains and interprets disturbances in breeding pigs on a farm at the cell, tissue, organ and system of the body in the course of the disease. -Describes, explains and interprets the mechanisms of reproductive pathology of pigs in terms of organ and body. -Applies antibiotic therapy and hormonal therapy in the breeding of pigs on the farm. -Describes and interprets the causes and symptoms, describe and interpret pathological changes, applies the principles of treatment and prevention of various disease entities related to reproduction of pigs on the farm. Practical skills: -Demonstrates ability to listen to answer understandable language that is appropriate to the situation -Prepares clear case reports and keep records in accordance with the applicable rules comprehensible to the owner of the farm pigs and readable for other doctors. -Properly interprets the veterinarian responsible for the animals at the farm pigs and their owner and in relation to society and the environment. -Is aware of the need to maximize the use of professional skills in order to enhance the quality of veterinary care, animal welfare and public health.

Competences: -Demonstrates accountability for decisions to humans and animals. -Complies with ethical principles. -Is able work with other professionals in the field of public health.

Prerequisites: anatomy, pathology, physiology, physiopathology, parasitological, pharmacology, microbiology, immunology, diagnostics, diseases of farm animals - reproduction

Course content: Control of reproduction in the pig farm, systemic solutions to improve fertility of the animals in pig herd
