Learning outcomes: learning outcomes: basics for understanding the functioning of plant organisms, the understanding of basic issues concerning the structure and function of cells and the functioning of the various cellular compartments, knowledge of basic methods used in cell biology and physiology of plants, understanding the possibility of using plants in medicine, agriculture, industry and environmental protection;

Competences: competences: preparing to work in a research lab, the ability to safe handling of chemicals, preparation to conduct research using biological material of plant, preparation for handling the basic research equipment (pH meter, spectrophotometer); teamwork.

Prerequisites: Botany, chemistry.

Course content: Course contents: Purpose and outline of the history of plant physiology. Basic physiological processes of cells: photosynthesis, respiration. Physiological processes of plants: water plants, waste, mineral nutrition, transformation of nitrogen transport and distribution of mineral and organic compounds. Biology and control of plant development. Regulation of physiological processes through growth regulators and light. Structure and function of the body and adapt to the environment, reactions to stress factors, adaptation and acclimatization, the movements of plants.

Assessment methods: Assessment: written exam, Obligatory present at every lab. Only documented emergencies will be accepted as excused absences - Pass the report - Pass two written tests.
