Learning outcomes: learning outcomes: During the course students will know the morphological and anatomical structure of vascular plants and reproduction types. The scheme of plant systematic and characteristics of botanical families important for food production is introduced. Special attention will be paid on the organs, tissues and intracellular organelles which are used as vegetable raw materials. Students gains skilling in detailed observation of plant organs and tissues.

Competences: competences: Passing the course student is able to recognize the main taxonomical group of plants and describe its structure, is ready to prepare microscopic slides and use microscope for observation. Is able to asses .

Prerequisites: Prerequisites: biology on the level of the secondary school

Course content: Course contents: The overall purpose of the course is to provide students with theoretical background of the morphological and anatomical structure of vascular plants and reproduction types as a base for taxonomy of plants.
