Learning outcomes: After completing the course the student will have theoretical and practical knowledge on steel properties, dimensioning methods of steel structures and their use in engineering praxis.

Course content: The course will give general knowledge of steel properties as a structural material. It will present theoretical basis of steel members and steel structures design – beams, columns, frames, trusses. Theory of rivets, bolts and welds dimensioning methods and their practical application will be discussed and explained.
