Learning outcomes: Student receives the knowledge about the soil and climatic requirements, methods of propagation, growing systems, plant management, harvest and storage methods of vegetable crops

Competences: Student will acquire the knowledge that is necessary to run the modern farm specializing in vegetable crops production for fresh market supply, processing, deep freezing or storage purposes.

Prerequisites: Plant Physiology, Soil science, Plant nutrition

Course content: Basic informations including nutritional value of vegetable crops, environmental factors influencing plant growth and development, possibility of microclimate shaping, methods of cultivation, fertilization, methods of harvest and post harvest handling. The attention will be paid on of the most important species grown in the field and greenhouses.
