Learning outcomes: Knowledge Knows kinds and types of chemical hazards, knows the law in dealing with hazards and organization of the services, which prevents and limits environmental risk, knows personal protective equipment (individual and collective), has basic knowledge of hazardous substances, their classification, transport and Material Safety Data Sheets. Skills Knows how to identify hazards, is able to assess risks in chemical processes, is able to prepare Material Safety Data Sheets, is able to assess the risk associated with fire and explosion caused by hazardous materials. Social competences: Understands the essence of safe production in the field of chemical processes, is able to analyze and assess the risks in industrial processes.

Course content: Chemical safety - the essence, preliminary issues. Legal status and law in dealing with hazards in the industry, especially taking into account the chemical industry. Responsibilities in the field of Health and Safety. The organization of services dealing with extraordinary hazardous to the environment. Responsibilities of the business in a major industial accidents. Hazardous materials in the chemical industry. Types of hazards and identification of hazards. Elements of toxicology. Fire and explosion hazards due to hazardous materials. Safety in the chemical industry. Personal and collective equipment. Characterization, analysis and risk assessment in industrial processes.
