Learning outcomes: W1-Knows the regulations regarding the feed industry. Has a fundamental legal; knowledge on the management of the plant and animal origin products, feed materials and feed additives used in the feeds production and animal nutrition [BH2-W03; R2A_W02]. W2 - knows the critical points in feed production, the rules of supervision during the feed production processes, control of raw materials, feed additives and feed mixtures storage conditions and their turnover [BH2-W10; R2A_W05]. U1- is able to assess the quality of the raw materials and feed additives of plant and animal origin [[BH2-U07; R2A_U06]. U2-Can organize control of threats at all stages of the feed materials and feeds production according to the principle "from farm to fork". The student has the ability to use control points during the feeds production [BH2-U04; R2A_U04; R2A_U06; BH2-U12; R2A_U07]. U3-has the ability to prepare the written elaboration and oral presentation on the legislation being in force [BH2-U13; R2A_U08; BH2-U14; R2A_U09].

Competences: K1- is aware of the necessity to ensure the safety and quality of manufactured products at all stages of production, as well as has consciousness to improve the used techniques, technology and organization of feed materials production [BH2-K05; R2A_K05]. K2- is aware of the necessity of comprehensive activity and compliance with the requirements for ensuring of adequate and sanitary conditions during production of animal feeds. Has consciousness of the desire to obtain raw materials and feedingstuffs free of different threats (contamination with harmful and unwanted substances) at any stage of feed production [BH2-K06; R2A_K06]. K3- is aware of the necessity to constant training and upgrading of professional competence [BH2-K07; R2A_K07].

Prerequisites: Animal nutrition, production of commercial feeds and premixes

Course content: The student acquaints with the requirements of the laboratory and in vivo assessment of materials and feed additives. Acquires knowledge on the requirements relating to the legal and technical procedures needed for the registration of new feed both materials and additives. Gets the necessary knowledge on the control and quality management systems, including HACCP, GMP, GHP and ISO.
