Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student: W1 – has a general knowledge on mechanisms regulating the different kinds of animals’ reaction (mainly mammals and birds) [KB2_W05]; W2 – knows the physiological basis of animals’ behaviour and understands behavioural strategies used by animals [KB2_W02_BŚ]. Skills: Student: U1 – evaluates observed animals’ reactions and fits proper methods of dealing with them [KB2_U04, KB2_U02_BŚ]; U2 – student uses scientific literature and other sources of information [KB2_U06]; U3 – student has the ability of oral presentation in Polish [KB2_U05].

Competences: Personal and social competences (attitudes and behaviors): Student: K1 –is aware of responsibility of team members for common goals [KB2_K02].

Prerequisites: Zoology, animal physiology

Course content: physiological basis of animals’ behaviour (especially learning); stress and its effect on animals’ reactions; different forms of animal behaviour (especially in uncharacteristic situations etc.), dealing with animals (during transport, etc.).

Assessment methods: Oral presentation on animal psychology (on the base of literature), written test. Presence during classes – obligatory. Final grade as arithmetic mean of above 2 assessments.
