Learning outcomes: Knowledge Student knows the equilibrium conditions flat and spatial systems of forces; known methods of solving (determining the support reactions and cross strength) flat rod girders like crates, straight beams and multi-span and frames; know how to determine the geometrical characteristics of cross girders; has knowledge of the state of tension and deformation in compression and tensile girders, shear, twisted, bending; known method to determine the displacements in systems rod. Skills Student can choose a static scheme for the designed construction, determine the geometrical characteristics of sections; determine the support reactions and cross strength (internal) like axial strength and transverse, torsional moments and bending moments, know how to determine state of tension (normal and shear stresses) and strain in rod systems; can design girders such like poles, single and multi-span beams, crates and frameworks subjected to compression and tensile, twisted and bending.

Competences: Students understand the rationality of the design of the structure.

Prerequisites: algebra, mathematical analysis, physics

Course content: Principles of statics, strength, statical moment the force with respect to point and axis, connections and supports (ties support), systems of strengths, reduction systems of strengths. Terms balance system of strengths flat and in space like: crates, beams, frameworks. Simple cases of endurance like: compression and tensile, shear, twisted, straight and sloping bending, cam compression. Determination of displacements in flat rod systems.
