Learning outcomes: After completing the course student has knowledge of the conception of river regulation for reclamation requirements, kinds of irrigation, conditions of using and designing the sprinkling irrigation, drop irrigation, infiltration irrigation.

Competences: After completing the course student is able to count the shortage of water, dozes of irrigation, to select and design set of basic equipment for infiltration irrigation, to draw up the plan and longitudinal profile of ditch.

Prerequisites: drainage.

Course content: Purposes of river regulation (grassland, arable land). Shortage of water. Water requirement in irrigations. Conditions of using the sprinkling irrigation, drop irrigation, infiltration irrigation. Systems of water management in infiltration irrigation. Depth and spacing of ditches according to Zakaszewski. Hydraulic scheme of irrigation. Times, dozes and inflows in infiltration irrigation. Water balance on the irrigated object. Conception of water set on the plan – basic and detailed land improvement equipment. Choice and arrangement of devices for damming up the water. Cross and longitudinal profile of selected ditch.
