Learning outcomes: Knowledge: O1-W16 - student has the knowledge in the field of dendrology and management of green areas necessaryto it's planning and exploatation. R1A_W05 - student has the knowledge in the field of the ornamental shrubs and trees seeds growing including morphology and anatomy of seeds and main methods of horticultural plants seeds production R1A_W06 ,R1A_W07 - student has the basic knowledge in the field of the law with particular reference to the legal aspects of planting and conservation of ornamental shrubs and trees and plants biotechnology and environmentalprotecion in Poland InzA_W01 - student has the knowledge in the field of ornamental shrubs and trees genetics and biotechnology Learning outcomes: O1 – U03, R1A_U07 - student has the skill of trees and shrubs, climbing plants and chamaephytes recognition, its habitat selection, designing habitat area needed for trees and shrubs; designing, establishing and maintenancing the backyards InzA_U03 - student can estimate the setting for trees, shrubs, chamaephytes and climbing plants in the analysis of environmental factors affecting plant growth, has the skills of selection and planning the use of trees, shrubs, chamaephytes and climbing plants application in hortuculture in order to obtain the best ornamental results with particular emphasis of the final product quality and economic analysis of the project

Competences: O1-K01, R1A_K01, R1A_K07 - student has the awareness of the further education and self-impovement importance in the field of new taxa, ornamental trees and shrubs selection for green areas and underentand the need of learning for whole life to improve the skills acquired during the studies

Prerequisites: Botany, soil science, chemistry

Course content: Familiarization with trees, shrubs, chamaephytes and climbing plants with opportunity to cultivate in Poland occuring both naturally in Poland and introduced Ability of morphological analysis and recognition of trees, shrubs, chamaephytes and climbing plants. Tutorials will take place in Park Szczytnicki and in ornamental trees and shrubs collection of the Research Station in Psary. In the class embrace herbaria, catalogues and prepared fresh plant material (shoots, leaves)

Assessment methods: Knowledge: Familiarization with trees, shrubs, chamaephytes and climbers. Recognition of trees and shrubs tests on each tutorial, oraz exam. Skills: ability of trees, shrubs, chamaephytes anc climbers recognition in green areas and its ability to planting use Social competences: assessment of team workin effects, assessing the accuracy of arguments selection with respect to the basic selecion principles of planting trees and shrubs
