Learning outcomes: Knowledge: W1 – has knowledge of ecological systems’ structures and mechanisms [BH2_W01; R2A_W01; BH2_W08; R2A_W04]; W2 – knows ecological research methods, formulates research hipotheses [BH2_W02; R2A_W01; R2A_W03]; W3 – explains strategies of organisms adaptation to environmental conditions [BH2_W01; R2A_W01; BH2_W08; R2A_W04]; W4 - understands relationships between organisms and their environment [BH2_W05;R2A_W03BH2_W15; R2A_W07]. Skills: U1 - an apply various methods of ecological research [BH2_U04; R2A_U04; R2A_U06]; U2 - defines species membership of specified terrestrial organisms [BH2_U10; R2A_U06]; U3 - analyzes and interprets the interactions between organisms living on land and determines their environmental requirements [BH2_U03; R2A_U03; BH2_U06; R2A_U06; BH2_U12; R2A_U07].
Competences: K1 – is able to work in a team and organize fieldwork thinking creatively [BH2_K01;R2A_K01]; K2 - is able to select and apply appropriate methods of collecting, breed, conservation and preparation in the study of invertebrates [BH2_K02; R2A_K02; BH2_K03; R2A_K03].

Course content: Course contents: Research methods in ecology of terrestrial animal. Ecogeographic rules. Mechanisms of animal ecological isolation.Metabolism and bioenergetics. Levels of environmental organizations.Relationships between organisms. Biocenosis. Evolution in ecosystems. Biodiversity. Legal systems of environmental protection and nature conservancy.
