Learning outcomes: W1 – student posses the knowledge on extensive avian managements [BH2-W06; R2A_W03]; W2 – knows the abilities and role of extensive bird keeping [BH2-W06; R2A_W03]; W3 – posses a particular knowledge on poultry functioning in extensive management systems [BH2-W08; R2A_W04]; W4 – characterizes and indicates the possibilities of obtaining the raw materials from farm birds [BH2-W11; R2A_W05]; W5 – posses the knowledge on selection and management methods of different avian species as the reservoir of protection their biodiversity [BH2-W13; R2A_W06]; W6 – knows the method of bird feeding in extensive management [BH2-W09; R2A_W04]. U1 – is able to plane and organize the extensive bird [BH2-U04; R2A_U04]; U2 – is able to choice a proper bird species and their management systems for extenive keeping condition [BH2-U05; R2A_U05].

Competences: K1 – is able to describe the priorities that should be taken into account organizing the extensive bird keeping [BH2-K03; R2A_K03].

Prerequisites: animal nutrition, poultry breeding

Course content: Significance of free range poultry keeping, basic species and breeds o poultry kept in extensive and semi-intensive husbandry, rules of maintenance of particular species of domestic birds, buildings and their equipment, yards.
