Learning outcomes: Understanding of basic environmental concerns; reduction of emission and neutralization of dangerous substances; knowledge of regulations concerning environmental protection in Poland and other countries.
Competences: Identification of pollution sources; performing an environmental toxicological examination.
Prerequisites: Chemistry, Cell Biology, Biophysics.
Course content: Actual problems of sozology. The role of a veterinary surgeon in environmental protection. Ecotoxicological threats associated with farming. Pollution of atmosphere, water and soil – monitoring and ways of reduction. Municipal and industrial sewage treatment. Ways of reduction of industry associated gas and dust emission. Law and regulations concerning environmental protection.
