Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student: W1 –knows the research objectives and methodology of occupational health and safety and ergonomics; knows functional determinants of system: man-machine and human - environment [KB_W18], [KB_W20]; W2 - defines the basic factors of work environment and their impact on the human body [KB_W20]; W3 - knows the potential health effects caused by chemical, biological and physical factors at work [KB_W20]; W4 - understands the biological and environmental causes of tiredness [KB_W20]. Skills: Student: U1 - interprets results of measurements of the physical working environment to its optimization [KB_U15]; U2 - uses the basic diagnostic techniques to assess the level of occupational risk and biological work load [KB_U02], [KB_U15].

Competences: Personal and social competences (attitudes and behaviors): Student: K1 - is aware of the risks in incorrectly designed environment of work [KB_K06]; K2 - correctly forms his place of work [KB_K09].

Prerequisites: human anatomy, human physiology

Course content: definition of ergonomics and occupational safety, conditions for the operation of the system man-machine; physical, chemical and biological factors of work environment, anthropometry as an ergonomic system of reference; ergonomics issues of perception of signals in the process of labor, occupational health of mental and physical work.

Assessment methods: multiple choice test (30 questions). Examination takes 60 minutes. If student fail the test in first term, he/she has the right to second attempt (oral or written).
