Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Explains possibilieties of cytological (fine needle aspiration biopsy, exfoliative cytodiagnosis, fluids from body cavities) and histopathological diagnostics. Discusses the rules for sampling and fixation of material for the research, carry out the cytological slides and interpretation of the results. Practical skills Recognizes benign and malignant tumors on the basis of cytological and histological slides, can determine neoplasms origin and malignancy. Takes samples, fixes, and describes material for cytology and histopathology.
Competences: Diagnoses benign or malignant tumors in cytological and histopathological slides.
Prerequisites: Passed pathomorphology exam
Course content: During the course, students learn the basics of diagnostic cyto-and histopathological changes in malignant or benign tumors (inflammatory reactions, etc.).
