Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student gains practical knowledge about the mechanical processing, chemical and thermal of metal. Student associates metalworking processes. Defines the distribution and functional characteristics of equipment used to process materials. Defines the parameters of technological processes, recognizes construction and basic rules of machinery and equipment and explains the principle of their operation Skills: Students acquire practical skills to apply theoretical knowledge included in the program of study, identify their future work environment. The emphasis of selection of appropriate methods and parameters of the treatment materials. Acquires the ability to use proper nomenclature for the production work and workshops. Appropriate treatment regimes are distinguished according to the changing conditions of production, processing technology used and the required quality parameters. Acquires the ability to conduct practical analysis of processes of production, regeneration and repair

Competences: Student demonstrates understanding of the principles of proper selection of technology and parameters of technological processes of manufacture, renovation and repair. Observes the safety rules during the execution of work. He sees the need to work in a team and has responsibility for the entrusted property. Recognizes the principle of good regulation and operation of equipment forming the plant workshop facilities. Demonstrates the need for self-improvement and training in production work and maintenance projects

Prerequisites: technology of materials, machine parts, engineering graphics

Course content: Practical activities that students have in factories equipped with workshop facilities. Activities include issues related to the basic mechanical treatment of materials, heat treatment and welding of metals
