Learning outcomes: Knowledge: After completing the course students will know: the basic environmental and technical water relations determine the character of the area, a general understanding of how they regulate excessively humid areas in different soil conditions, weather, know the basic principles for the design of systematic and non-systematic drainage systems, building on these systems, the selection of insurance and protection. After finishing course the student is able to: diagnose potential need for drainage area based on the analysis of a variety of direct and indirect signs of environmental and soil factors and hydrographic, it can choose the technical and non-technical methods of regulation of water, depending on the area causing the excessive humidity, can determine the basic parameters of drainage ditches can design the basic elements of a systematic drainage area, can offer additional treatments to improve drainage operation.

Competences: After completing the course students will understand the importance of optimal regulation of water for food production in the agricultural and non-agricultural opportunities and land use planning.

Prerequisites: meteorology, physics and chemistry of soils, hydrology

Course content: The objectives and tasks of the drainage of agricultural land and urban factors affecting the water relations of these areas, the causes, symptoms and effects of excessive soil moisture, ways of regulating water relations, standards of dehydration. Drainage ditches with their technical characteristics, strengthen slopes and bottom structures in drainage ditches. Basic drainage, drainage network elements, drainage materials, specifications drainage network, protection, drainage structures on the network, the recognition of foreign water, headwater, drainage outlet depressions, squares, playgrounds, housing, roads, buildings and construction sites.
