Learning outcomes: Students become familiar with economic aspects of environmental protection ,current state of environmental resources, as well as the costs of protection of the environment. They also gain the knowledge regarding the rules and state political instruments providing protection of the environment, the mechanisms governing economics – environment contacts and resulting hazards to the environment.
Competences: Students are able to determine and analyze the factors connected with optimal quality of the environment as well as the possibilities of internalization of external effects. They can also define the rules governing rational management of resources ,especially the non – renewable ones and the problems involving balanced development.
Prerequisites: Economy
Course content: The state and predictions regarding alterations in the Earth natural environment. Economic issues to be met by environmental requirements. Free and economic goods, external effects. Optimal quality of the environment. Theoretical basis of resources management. The costs of environmental protection. Eco - development indices considered in their economic, social and environmental aspects.
